Why You’re Still Struggling to Grow

I Failed at Hiring the First Time I Tried

When you’re an entrepreneur, the personal and the professional are intertwined. Your business hinges on your decisions, beliefs, and thoughts. That also means it hinges on your growth.

There’s this belief in the business world that you should be hustling nonstop, using every minute of your day to make an impact on your business. On paper, that sounds like the perfect pathway to growth. In reality, it’s a recipe for burnout and paralysis.

After years in this business, I’ve witnessed two common setbacks entrepreneurs face:

  1. Investing but never applying. I’m always encouraging women to go out and learn more about their business. Knowledge is empowering and helps grow your mindset. However, you won’t reap all the benefits of your knowledge unless you apply it to your business. If you take a course about pricing your services but never adjust your prices based on what you learned, you’re going to be at a disadvantage.
  2. Overworking themselves. When I first started my business, I would feel guilty for every moment I wasn’t using for professional growth. What I didn’t realize was that keeping a balance and giving myself a break was also part of the growth progress. You have to let yourself breathe every once in a while. It’s in these moments that you can reconnect with your purpose and get reenergized.

The most successful entrepreneurs invest in themselves by being proactive and taking care of themselves. If you’re overworked and overwhelmed, you won’t have the momentum you need to make progress. If you’re full of knowledge but with nothing to do with it, you might be overloading yourself with information you don’t need. Since our minds naturally filter out the knowledge we aren’t using, it won’t stick in your memory in the long run.

Remember this: an investment in yourself is an investment in your business. Looking to invest in our virtual CFO services? Check them out here.
